I know many of you found my preparing for your endometriosis laparoscopy update useful, so I thought I’d create a checklist that you can print out and take to around with you to make sure that you’ve gotten everything covered.
As I think of more things I’ll update this document so please share this page to anyone that you think may benefit from it.
You can download the checklist here.
Hope you have a happy surgery.
Thank you for your blog and the checklist 🙂
You’re most welcome 🙂
Thanks for this, I have my first laparoscopy in May to hopefully come to the diagnosis. A long and anxious wait. I’m curious at how long did you have to wait for your first surgery once you were seen by a consultant?
Glad I can help. The average wait after referral where I live is three to four months.
I’m 31 years old with severe endo waiting for my first laparoscopy on June, your blog is been really helpful! Many thanks!
I don’t know why, but when I try to download the checklist is not working…
Sorry to hear you’re having problems downloading the checklist. I’m having trouble seeing what’s causing this, could you try again in Chrome?
If you can’t get that to work let me know and I’ll email you a copy using the details you’ve provided 🙂
I’m Cassie, 30 years old with severe endo and waiting for laparoscopy on June. Your blog is been really helpful, many thanks!!!
hihi, I can’t download the check list too… could you send it to me.. thank you..
Hi, I’ve changed the link to the checklist, please try again 🙂
Hi. Thank you for sharing your experience with us. You have no idea how much it helps us all. Especially me.
I’ve had a miscarriage in January and been in pain ever since. I’ve been put on a waiting list in April and have my diagnosis surgery in October but I am really disappointed with the whole system as I didn’t actually get a letter from the hospital, I had to chase it up myself and I only found out on Monday that I have the surgery in two weeks.
I’ve been told at the beginning that I will get a chance to speak to the surgeon before the day of the surgery but that didn’t happen and I have so many questions to ask. I’ve read a lot about endometriosis and the laparoscopy, but all the questions are with regards to my case (e.g. Îs there gonna be an expert doing the surgery or just a gynecologist? Are they gonna use a laser or cut the endo if they find any? What if they find endo outside the pelvic area, can they tackle it?) . But your blog helps a lot with the practical bit. Thank you.
I just had my first laparoscopic surgery and I was told I would just be laid up for three days but it wouldn’t be that bad well. The pain is so bad I have difficulty moving from side to side, getting up I have to ask for my fiancé to help pick me up so I can use the restroom. That in itself is super hard I have to push which causes a lot of pressure which causes pain in my abdomen just so I can Trinkle out a little urine. If I didn’t have my fiancé with me I don’t know how I could do this alone. The doctors should give more warning on the pain during the recovery process. Does anyone have any suggestions on how I should deal with the pain.
Thank you so much for writing this. im going in on thursday for my first laparoscopy. im so scared! but reading this has made me feel alot better, like i know whats coming and it makes me feel slightly less nervous about it, hope your keeping well xx
